Matcha is a Japanese traditional stone ground green tea which is very nutritious and has many health benefits.

Matcha comes from the same plant that all other teas come from; camellia sinensis.  The main difference from other teas is the way of producing it.  A few weeks before harvest, the plant is covered from the sun, which causes it to produce more antioxidant and amino acid called L-theanine.  After harvest, the leaves are carefully steamed and dried, then ground into fine powder.  Because of this unique process, Matcha contains high level of antioxidant (Catechins) as well as the amino acid L-theanine.  Matcha also contains Beta-Carotine, Polysaccharides, Polyphenols, Chlorophyll, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, folic acid, Theophylline (Caffeine) for a long list of health benefits!
