J-OKINI HOJICHA LOOSE LEAF GREEN TEA 50G

Hojicha is roasted Japanese green tea.  The tea leaves are steamed right after harvesting to stop the oxidation first, which is the same procedure as Sencha, then they are roasted with high temperature, around 200 degrees.

By roasting tea leaves, the bitterness and caffeine are removed.

The tea leaves have a brownish colour.   When brewing this tea, you will see a nice golden brown watercolor, unlike other Japanese green teas.

It has an earthy flavour and is highly aromatic.

Perfect tea for evenings, children and pregnant women who are avoiding caffeine.
