Uji is a region high in the hills southern Kyoto, renowned for producing the best Japanese teas.

This Genmaicha is a blend of Sencha green tea (loose leaves) and a bit of Matcha powder produced in Uji, and steamed and toasted brown rice. Genmai means brown rice in Japanese and the toasted rice adds a nice aroma and flavour to the green tea. Our Genmaicha is special because of the blend of Sencha loose leaves and high grade Matcha powder, as opposed to other Genmaicha using Bancha instead of Sencha.
